A favourite story for siblings

When I had my third son I was inundated with thoughtless comments from strangers along the lines of “Three boys – I guess you can always try again!”. Apart from being shocked by these comments, I thought a little reassurance for my boys wouldn’t go astray. I wanted my boys to feel there was no doubt they were all exactly what we wanted. This task was aided by a lovely, simple story by Sam McBratney, You’re All My Favourites.

The story tells of three little bears who begin to wonder if their differences, such as being the smallest, mean they are loved less. Mummy Bear and Daddy Bear reassure them that each is equally special to them and the story concludes with the little bears knowing that they are all their parents’ favourites.

You’re All My Favourites is much like McBratney’s other well known story, Guess How Much I Love You?, destined to be a modern classic. Perfect for gently addressing sibling rivalry or preparing for the arrival of a new baby, You’re All My Favourites is available from Fishpond for $14.97. Board books, gift sets and paperback format are also available.
