35 celebrity mums we absolutely adore

Being a mum is the hardest job in the world. But for most of us, when we muck up or have a bad parenting day, no-one knows. As long as we remember to keep it off social media, that is. Now imagine being a celebrity mum – where every move you make, every parenting decision you take, is pulled apart and dissected and – dare we say it – criticised.

What would you do? Here are some of our favourite celebrity mums who aren’t afraid to parent their way and don’t give a hoot about what the critics say. Need more reason to love them? Then keep on reading!

Angelina Jolie

We don’t love her because she’s beautiful. Oh no. It’s because she lets her kids (Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne) be exactly who they want to be. And because she lets them eat packets of chips, even when the whole world’s watching and plenty are judging her for it. She doesn’t care. We should all be Angelina!

Bec Hewitt

Bec‘s been a constant in the gossip magazines and on the tennis court sidelines as she supported hubby Lleyton Hewitt. We love Bec – mum to Mia, Cruz and Ava – because she shows a woman can choose to put her career on hold to raise her kids and that’s totally okay.

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge

Kate is the epitome of class and style and a role model for hands-on mums everywhere. Mum to Prince George and Princess Charlotte, the Duchess of Cambridge always puts her children first and we absolutely love her for it.

Cate Blanchett

It’s hard to balance work and children, especially when you have four of them! But Cate pulls it off effortlessly with poise and a fair dash of parenting panache. We love her because she’s the chic, got-it-together mum we all secretly want to be.

Carrie Bickmore

Carrie is a ray of sunshine on screen and we are sure she is just as bright in real life. She remained composed and in control when she lost her husband to brain cancer and is a smart and sassy role model for young women watching the news with their parents every night. Kudos Carrie.

Christie Hayes

Another homegrown Home and Awayer, Christie Hayes recently spoke about having two children under one as she keeps busy being mummy to Hendrix (born October 2014) and Harley (born September 2015). We love her honesty and her ability to ignore the haters with integrity.

Chrissy Teigan

Never have we come into Instacontact with a celebrity mum who keeps it so real. From tweeting about adult nappies to grasping her milky breasts during a rollercoaster ride, Chrissy is the imperfect mum we all love to follow!

Drew Barrymore

She’s the first to admit that she’s no pinup mum and we absolutely adore Drew’s honest account of her parenting highs and lows, especially her admission to postnatal depression after having daughter, Frankie.

Elle Macpherson

How could you not love Elle? We love her because she’s ELLE. This mother-of-two boys shows us we don’t have to chop our long locks off when we hit the other side of 40. We may not have her legs, we may not have her bank balance, but by god, we can have her hair.

Oh, and a private yacht too please. Thank you.

Elsa Pataky

She’s married to Chris Hemsworth. So she is pretty much the greatest celebrity mum in the world.

The end.

Gwen Stefani

Gwen has rocked the charts for years and years, but as a mum, she remains grounded, especially when it comes to her three boy (Kingston, Zuma and Apollo). Anyone who can handle three rowdy boys is ace in our books.

Plus, she shows us it is possible to find love after a divorce, which is always hopeful for single mummas!

Jennifer Lopez

JLo not only manages to hold down a sizzling career, but she is also a busy mum to twins. But this isn’t why we love her – it’s because she shows that you can be a mum in your 40s and still look incredibly hot! Which we know should be low on our mum list of priorities, and may not be you right now if you’re at home with breast milk or rice cereal stains on your tee – but it could happen!!

Jennifer Garner

Jennifer is the sort of mum I would like to be – she is kind, patient (even when nannies are involved) and I bet she makes the best chocolate chip bickies. Whether covered in a skin tight bodysuit or dressed down to attend church, she looks effortlessly beautiful. And who can forget how she came out in support of the post-baby mummy tummy back in 2014.

Jessica Biel

Tired of the dramas of taking her son Silas out to restaurants, Jessica did what any mum would do. She opened her own kid-friendly restaurant.

Okay, so most of us wouldn’t be able to afford to do this, but we love her tenacity and motivation.

Her bum is pretty nice too.

Jodi Anasta

Jodi is the epitome of hip and now that she and hubby Braith Anasta have split, she is also rocking the single mum role. Recently she spoke out about her ex-husband’s new girlfriend with integrity and maturity and is another mum who proves that civil co-parenting isn’t an impossible dream.

Kate Hudson

Kate has never been afraid to show us her cheeky side as she plays around with her two boys. Plus, she has some serious dance moves.

Miranda Kerr

Nothing brings me more joy than being a Mother ❤️🙏🏻🤗 Happy Mothers Day to all Mothers 🌺🌻🌷

A photo posted by Miranda (@mirandakerr) on

How can you not love Miranda? She’s a true blue Aussie with a beautiful smile and a gorgeous son, Flynn. Plus, she’s rocking the single mum look and still manages to keep things civil with her ex, Orlando Bloom.

Nicole Richie

Nicole Richie has her flaws, yes, but we love her because she teaches us an important life lesson. You can be as crazy as you like in your 20s and then reinvent yourself as an amazing mumma later in life.

And rock coloured hair no matter what your age.

Nicole Trufnio

She made headlines with her Elle Australia cover where she was photographed breastfeeding baby Zion and continues to wow us with how effortlessly she combines mummyhood with modelling.

Rebecca Judd

Rebecca Judd, who recently announced she is pregnant with twins, may be married to one of the great football players, but she is never going to be one of those trophy wives. Sure, she’s perfectly pretty, but we love her because she stands her ground and refuses to let the body shamers and haters get her down.

Plus, she clearly doesn’t mind letting her children have sweets every now and then.

Sophie Gregorie Trudeau

As a Canadian/Australian I couldn’t not include the beautiful wife of the Canadian prime minister on the list. She rules because she’s open-minded about what it means to be a mum. For example, she is more than happy to discuss her prolonged breastfeeding of youngest child, Hadrian without blinking an eye.

Victoria Beckham

Raising four children is always going to be tricky. But Victoria manages to not only parent her troops, she’s raising them to be respectful and caring towards each other. The love this beautiful family have for one another is something we all strive for.

These are only some of the many celebrity mums we love and look up to. Katie Holmes, Megan Gale, Princess Mary, Kate Ritchie, Jessica Alba, Uma Thurman, Reese Witherspoon, Toni Collette, Jools Oliver, Kyly Clarke, Michelle Williams, Rachael Griffiths and Sarah Murdoch are a few more to add to the celebrity mummy crush list.

Who is your favourite celebrity mum?
