I do! 11 adorable photos of Pippa Middleton’s littlest wedding guests

Pippa Middleton's wedding

Princess Charlotte and Prince George were part of the world’s most adorable wedding party on Saturday – at their aunt Pippa’s wedding to finance exec James Matthews. Pippa (who is Kate Middleton’s sister, as you probably know) became engaged to James last year and their romance culminated in the UK’s wedding of the year.

There’s no doubt that the littlest members of the wedding party totally stole the show. Their outfits were commissioned from Pepa & Co, with the little knickerbockers especially providing joyful moments for Pippa-followers across the globe.

For those playing at home, the flower girls were: Countess Philippa Hoyos, Lily French, Avia Horner and Princess Charlotte of Cambridge. The couple’s pageboys were: Casimir Tatos, Edward Sebire, William Ward and (of course!) Prince George.

Obviously our own royal-ish wedding correspondent was otherwise detained, so here’s some of the best snaps of the wedding party juniors, as captured by Instagram. Prepare to be delighted!

1. The arrival

Think mother duck trying to encourage a bunch of knickerbocker-ed ducklings to form an orderly line. Very hard. Much deep breaths.

2. The Shhhhh

The shoosh-struggle is very, very real when you’re in charge of an excited gaggle of shine-y panted page boys and flower girls. This picture attests to that.

3. Royal gang signs

We don’t know if Duchess Kate is pointing out the way into the church or locating bonny Prince George, but this cute moment – with special hand signals – is a fave.

4. We have lift off!

Heading into the church, follow-the-shooshing-beautiful-leader style… Swoon.

5. The Every-Mum-At-A-Wedding

Apparently George and some other guests trampled across Pippa’s dress at one point, resulting in some stern chatter, pointy mum-fingers… and tears from the little prince. (See video below!)

6. Royal resignation

The “forks” are out in this switcheroo-ed peace sign. Note the ‘do we really have to hold hands AND deal with this cummerbund-like detail?’ expression, too.

7. Spotted!

Alert! Alert! Penguins beware! This smiley moment shared by Charlotte and Kate may melt the polar icecaps.

8. The smooch. Just married!

With all the little petal sprinklers! Pippa’s guns seem to trump the kiss in the most-eyeballed stakes. (Also – look – Kate’s sister-of-the-bride outfit was OK… but she’s so sparky and pretty… perhaps something a little more contemporary and fabulous would have done her more justice? We think Pippa frock-blocked her sister.)

9. Post-kids petal sprinkling

Naw. Super cute. And the kids are in full flight, totally nailing the whole petal thing at this point – and even negotiating some swapsies, perhaps?

10. All hearts and flowers

The very important business of managing wedding froufrou – as experienced by Prince George and Princess Charlotte. All of the baby’s breath and bows.

11. Royal wave

George’s tentative smile and little hand waving from the back of the car as Kate grins in the front – possibly debriefing post-ceremony – is all kinds of adorable.

What a super-adorable day! Which is your favourite snap from Pippa’s wedding?
