It’s the stuff childhood dreams are made of, upscaling your toys to life-sized versions that actually work. Well, owning a Cozy Coupe (on steroids) just became a very real possibility. The only catch is that this flirtation is going to set you back around $46,000.
Remember our post from last year – where UK mechanic John Bitmead (and a couple of mates) transformed a Daewoo Matiz into a street-legal replica of the iconic Cozy Coupe?
Turns out it was recently listed on eBay where it got over 160,000 views, but failed to sell. An offer of $32,000 from a company in the USA was turned down.
Of course, it all costs much more than your regular Cozy Coupe, so what do you get for that sort of money? A life-sized road-going car that goes 0-100 km/h in 17 seconds. And the eternal respect and adoration of your children.
The exposure they got via the sale listing must have got someone else interested. All John will say is, “There is potentially something quite incredible in the pipeline regarding it, but until talks resume I cannot say much more”.
So, watch this space for the next instalment in the unlikely fairy tale of the Cozy Coupe that grew up!
