Show us your nursery – Alice In Wonderland nursery is a feast for the senses

It’s bold, it’s brash and it’s just what you might expect after jumping down a rabbit hole. Come and see more of one little girl’s whimsical Alice in Wonderland inspired nursery!

I love when someone isn’t afraid to stay true to their own sense of style and fun and buck traditional ways. Mum and interior designer Heidi Meyer, of Unit Five design fame, wanted to create an uber cool room for her littlest lady, putting her own stamp on the room by stepping outside the box of ‘normal’ decor and current nursery styling trends. And just quietly, we’re pretty sure she blitzed her brief with this showstopping nursery.

An Alice in Wonderland theme opened the floodgates to all things fun, bold and quirky, and to be fair, the whole apartment is kitted out in a similar style so it’s only natural to continue with a bold palette. If you think you recognise the cot, but can’t quite put your finger on it, it’s because it is indeed the ever popular Leander cot, but with a custom paint job. The wall-mounted ByBo Design Nathi nappy change station and Muuto wall boxes have been given the same droolworthy treatment. Amazing!

Heidi is quick to reassure us:

“Despite any concerns of bold colours keeping the baby awake, of important note is that our gorgeous girl has slept right through the night from week two. Now that she is a year old she is absolutely enamoured with her room and particularly the framed animal prints of bears and crocodiles all at her own height.”

This is awesome news for anyone who’s been cautioned away from bold decor for fear of their baby being overstimulated.

A feast for the senses, Heidi’s carefully curated nursery is an absolute delight. There’s something to discover at every turn – which we have no doubt is the reward for her impeccable attention to detail. I’m sure that the sweet cherub residing here will love this room for many, many years to come.
