Saying ‘cheeeeeese’ to a baby doesn’t really cut it when you’re trying to get a half decent smartphone photo. Babies are visual creatures – and that’s why this gadget, created by a Sydney dad, is so clever. If you want cuter than cute smartphone photos of your baby, it’s worth its weight in gold.
We love a seriously good gadget, and while this one can be filed under #firstworldproblems, it’s still really awesome. There’s little wonder we’re currently in the midst of creating the most photographed generation, it’s just so easy to take hundreds of adorable pics of our kids thanks to smartphones. But it often takes a dozen shots to get one usable photo. Until now.
Sydney dad Dave Canavan has come up with a detachable device that works on all mobile phones, with the sole purpose of gaining the attention of a baby as they’re about to have their photo taken. That’s because it’s a rattle. Just give a twirl, baby looks right at the phone, and snap, you have a perfect pic.
The Baby Focus ensures that the baby is looking pretty much smack bang at the lens, and they’ve usually got a rather cute expression. Bonus. It apparently also works just as well if you’re trying to take a photo of a pet.
The Kickstarter project is looking to raise $60,000 to get The Baby Focus off the ground, and at last count the coffers had ticked over the $12,000 mark, with a finish date of September 22, 2015. A pledge of $20 will get you a Baby Focus in the colour of your choice, with delivery between October and December – just in time for some Christmas snaps.
