If I could build a winter baby wardrobe to make you fall in love, it would have to start with the new season enfant collection from Eeni Meeni Miini Moh. One of our favourite Australian labels for babies and kids, the team at Eeni has just released their latest autumn winter collections and I’m giving it all an A… for adorable.
The enfant collection from Eeni has become something of a go-to collection for parents who want clothes for their bubbas that feel as beautiful to wear against the skin as they are to look at. The cottons most certainly are the finest, softest you could want. And there’s no mistaking the cute at work here for babies and toddlers aged up to 18 months. Baby girls are all sugar and spice and everything nice, with pretty pinks and plenty of ruffles for maximum sweetness interspersed among the love hearts and stripes. The collection for winter 2015 spans leggings, jumpsuits, dresses and bodysuits with skirts cleverly attached.
Baby boys are no less cheek-pinchingly cute in their enfant attire, with traditional blue mixing it with the marles and stripes. Best of all though is the little bear face peeking out from the boys’ jumpsuits and bodysuits. Pair them with the matching leggings and cardis – and of course, Eeni’s signature knotted ear hats – and your baby boys will be winter ready in ways that will draw “aaaaws” from everyone they meet.
Now, if you thought that was a lot of cute, wait til you see what Eeni’s designers have conjured for the slightly bigger kids aged up to five. Hearts make it into Eeni Meeni Miini Moh story for bigger girls too, along with stacks of stripes, but there’s also ballerinas, stars and a cheeky cat-mouse combination that will send the preschool set into hyperdrive.
It’s not just dresses, though Eeni fans know just how well this label caters for girls who like to rock a good frock, both of the play-date casual and party-perfect variety. Signature skeggings and yoga leggings are back too, and as comfortable as ever, with a host of rather lovely tops, both with slogans and without. There’s trackpants for warding off the chill in style, and matching French terry sweaters to keep torsos toasty.
The colours too are a treat, with muted shades that are a perennial feature of Eeni collections, but with up-to-the-minute twists. So this season Eeni is dishing up violet, fig, rhubarb, sage, tumeric, plume, indigo and fraise marle among the shades for girls. For boys, the palette includes aubergine, olive, fig, sapphire, biscuit, and varying shades of marle. And of course I don’t need to tell you that the fabrics are all natural – cottons, jerseys, corduroys and denims – designed quite deliberately to be hardwearing but huggable. From Eeeni Meeni, we’d expect nothing else.
For boys, this coming season’s tees sport a glorious mish-mash of doctor’s bags, super heroes, moustaches and wheeled contraptions – motorbikes, cars and pushbikes – so you can pretty much bet there’s something for every child. Eeni’s comfy jeans and cargos reappear in slightly tweaked designs – honestly, your little guys will just love wearing them – joined this time by supremely funky drop slouch pants and pull-on cords. There’s preppier styles too, for when the occasion calls for something slightly dressier.
Then it’s on to the older kids, with the always impressive e3-M label that’s sized for the up-to-12-years set. The look here is slightly less razzle – a little less embellishment and frippery for a cooler aesthetic – but no less dazzle, with designs that still leave you agape. The gauge knit peplum dress in tumeric is a stand-out for girls (above right), as is the delightful spotted tutu number, while boys get their own pared down version of tween cool (below), but whatever you choose it’s a pretty safe bet that kids will love anything from this new season 2015 collection.
I’ll finish as I always do, with Eeni’s incredibly comfortable pyjamas. My three kids are all converts to Eeni jim-jams and will tell anyone who listens how they’re the best pjs “in the world”. Let yours try for themselves – the designs this year are particularly cute.
