Hundreds of the world’s best maternity and children’s brands and emerging labels have flocked to France’s pulsating fashion capital, to put their wares on the global stage. And guess what? We can give you an armchair ride to Paris, to see just what will be heading to our shores in the near future.
Almost two thirds of the exhibitors at the just-wrapped Playtime Paris were from outside France. In fact, out of 440 exhibitors, 20 per cent were new to the tradeshow, covering 32 nationalities, including Estonian, Bulgarian and Lithuanian. Here’s what they had to offer.
For something a little different we thought we’d take you for a stroll through one of the most popular sections of this year’s Playtime Paris – the PlayWithDesign space. Each year ten designers are given a material to work with to create prototypes for children’s spaces. This year it was hand-woven wicker,and often the prototypes do end up in manufacture, so watch this space!
Kicking off our look at the new exhibitors at Playtime Paris is boys’ clothing label Abc123me. Simple, stylish clothes that are all about comfort is what this brand is all about.
Stunning, hand silkscreen printed pieces from Ah, Quel Plaisir caught everyone’s eye – I mean, how can you walk past this amazing cushion watch?
Also new to the Playtime Paris fold was Atelier djm, which creates impossibly adorable and very smart tailored children’s clothing and shoes.
Speaking of adorable, Beau Loves was another new addition to this incredibly popular trade show. Covering babies to children, the designs are brilliant.
Italy’s Cucu Lab made its début showing at Playtime Paris, with a flawless collection for women and children.
The beautiful Egg showed off its designer baby and children’s range.
The winter hats from Happyeti were an absolute delight – guaranteed to brighten any gloomy day!
Finally, the happiest feet on the block will surely be those graced by these beauties by Rainbow & Snow. The Copenhagen-based brand was a drawcard at Playtime Paris – those incredible loafers above are a sneak peek of the 2015 collection. Trade show season is now officially underway, so we’ll soon be bringing you more from across the globe.
