In another life, I was quite the clotheshorse, and actually I’m still the same pretty-dress-loving, handbag-collecting girl. I’m just waiting for my kids to grow up and quit smearing pasta sauce on me so I can go back to wearing silk again. It’ll happen right? Right??
Given my penchant for all things pretty, it’s only natural that my five favourite posts are almost all to do with fashion.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: overalls on kids are my favourite. Just when I thought they couldn’t get any cuter, Dotty Dungarees made them in a rainbow of amazing colours, with contrasting cuffs, and bow belts for little girls. My favourite just got favourit…er?
Between the heart-shaped elbow patches, ruffle-bottomed leggings and cableknit beanies with earflaps that hug chubby cheeks, Gera Bloga’s handknit garments are unbearably darling.
Maybe I’m old-fashioned, but I love a kid who’s well turned-out in a flouncy dress with an embroidered smock, or a cardigan and linen shorts ensemble. Sound too formal? Check out Paade Mode. I dare you to resist the charm.
As we face the awful slog through the last, coldest month of winter, what I wouldn’t do for a grown-up sized, merino wool, long-sleeved tee from Smalls.
For something completely different, my hands down favourite post to write was about Pahoj, the bike seat that converts into a stroller. I can’t count the number of times I’ve dreamt of something like this, usually when I was fumbling with my bike lock while watching my toddler take off down the footpath, still wearing his little spaceship bike helmet.
What were your favourites? Do I have any fashion-loving, bike-riding sisters out there?
