Every once in a blue moon, I come across a girls’ clothing line that makes me want to try for baby number three — a girl this time. But then I see stuff like this video of a woman who gave birth to her third baby in the car, and I think, maybe I’ll just live vicariously through my friends who are mamas of girls.
What were we talking about? Ah yes, dainty, adorable girls’ clothes, like the ones from Melbourne-based brand Peggy.
Peggy’s summer 2015 range is set to launch this September. Bring on the melting hot days because little girls will be leaping over one another to get into this collection of sweet floral, unabashedly girly clothes.
For babies there are ruffled overall sunsuits with matching sun bonnets, or smocked rompers with straps that tie into little bows. For older girls there are harem-style jumpsuits with flutter sleeves, full-skirted sundresses, and loose, comfy tunics that would be darling with shorts and a pair of red or gold sandals.
Peggy was named after the designer’s grandmother, and the designs are instilled with an old-fashioned whimsy that you don’t see much anymore.
Summer can’t get here soon enough, so keep your eyes peeled for the September release. For a list of stockists, check the Peggy website.
