I’ve never met a monochromatic print I didn’t like, but don’t assume I’m biased when I say Lucky No. 7’s black, white and grey palette is so sharp and brilliant.
Hailing from the Netherlands, Lucky No. 7 is a brand of monochromatic toddler and baby clothes that’s new to Australia, and we’re so happy to welcome the latest collection, Urban Jungle, to our sunny shores.
The collection is packed with soft, stretchy cotton knit basics like tees, shorts, leggings and onesies. Slogans on tees are the epitome of sartorial cheek. Case in point, the white top with ‘trouble maker’ scrawled vertically down the front, or the black tee emblazoned with ‘NO!’ in a speech bubble. Now, instead of responding ‘no’ to every single question I ask, my youngest can just point to his shirt and continue on his chubby path of destruction.
Some of the prints are on the strange side of delightful, like on the charcoal Monster Pirate Onesie ($54.95). The brand believes you should always be yourself, unless you can be a cute little pirate.
If you like the cosy onesie, it also comes printed with brushstroke criss crosses or a fuzzy panda face. Combine the Panda onesie with a beanie with ears and the result is ridiculously cute.
The leggings ($39.95) have a drop crotch fit that accommodates bulky nappies, with cuffed ankles so the pants don’t slip down and interfere with toddling. For the sweltering summer that’s just around the corner, there’s also a shorts version of the bottoms ($39.95) in a palm tree or chevron
Lucky No. 7 is available for pre-order at A Little Bit of Cheek, and the expected release date is 30 September 2015.
