A few small-screen stars from the 1990s have gone on to find their niches in child-related fields – just as Melrose Place actor Josie Bissett has become a children’s author (see her book Tickle Monster in our Christmas Roundup), 90210’s Tori Spelling has launched into the world of children’s fashion with her website Little Maven.
The clothes for boys are absolutely gorgeous, using unusual combinations of colours such as teal, olive green, plum and mustard to create garments for kids which are unexpected. I like the boys’ range just as much as the girls’ – having one of each has inspired Tori to be just as creative for each of her kiddies.
The colour pink doesn’t oversaturate the collections for girls, and when present in the ‘Stella’ range, is strikingly combined with mahogany stretch cord. Lilac is teamed deliciously with plum and turquoise in the ‘Bohemian Chic’ collection. I also love the Stella ‘Little Black Dress’ for special occasion wear – it’s a dress which should suit most seasons as you can layer for winter or leave sleeveless for warmer months.
Little Maven garments go up to size four, with the site happily shipping internationally.
