No one does fashion forward like the Parisians, so it’s no surprise that Little ElevenParis’s winter collection looks a bit like street style photos of off duty child models. The French brand has taken the most basic of kids’ wardrobe staples – printed tees, sweatshirts, jeans – and elevated them to a style that’s a little ironic, and a lot amazing.
Little ElevenParis is the younger sibling of ElevenParis, an ultra-contemporary label that’s been around for over a decade. The designers take pop culture references to create something that’s always perfectly in tune with the zeitgeist.
The winter collection is collossal, but it’s helpfully organised into mini themes. There’s new millenium Disney – think tees printed with #SELFIE and a Mickey holding up his phone (€29), or Simba with a fingerstache under his nose (€32).
For those who remember the 90s, references on tops like “Fresh like Will” (as in Prince and Smith) and “Kate is my sister” (as in Moss) (€49) will bring back memories of wearing bodysuits with super baggy jeans.
While we’re talking memory lane, there’s even a mini theme to inspire a new generation of Star Wars fanatics. T-shirts (€32) and hoodies are covered in a collage of characters like Luke, Darth, Laya and Jabba. Or if you’re into something more subtle, there’s a black Milky Way printed skirt (€40) to wear with a grey “Star Wars” logo tee. Pop on a leather jacket (€129) and there’s that off duty model look we were talking about.
Unfortunately Little ElevenParis doesn’t ship to Australia, so put it on your list of places to visit – right after the Louvre – for that European adventure you’ve been dreaming about.
