Is there a little explorer at your place? You’ll love the story behind this brand new children’s clothing line that’s perfect for the young and adventurous.
The label is LA-based Izzy and Ferd, founded just this year, with a mission to produce clothing that helps kids tell stories. What they mean by that is that they believe everyday clothing (not just dress up clothing) can inspire a spirit of adventure and curiosity – and their newest collection (aptly named “20000 Leagues“) has an underwater theme which does just that.
With leggings, t-shirts and long sleeved shirts in the range, this collection is aimed at the northern hemisphere autumn/winter season, but it never hurts to be prepared! The clothing is almost unisex in feel, with fun under-the-sea designs, and importantly, is comfortable to wear, because the “last thing little Captain Nemo wants to worry about when exploring the Atlantic is tripping over his pant legs”. It goes almost without saying that it’s all machine washable – sometimes exploring is a messy business.
Even the name of the label is inspired by this spirit of adventure – Izzy and Ferd refers to Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand of Spain, who commissioned great explorations all around the known (and unknown) world in the 15th century – including Christopher Columbus’ voyage to the New World.
