If there’s one thing Babyologists love more than dressing their babies and kids in the latest fashions, it’s when those fashions don’t burn a hole in your hip pocket. So get set to do a big cheer Sydney peeps, because two global fashion giants known for their very affordable designs are heading your way. And both have amazing children’s collections!
Yes, Melbourne folk no longer have exclusive shopping rights for Swedish superstore H&M. This popular purveyor of affordable fashions, already open in Melbourne’s CBD, this week announced they will open their very first Sydney store this year. But in something of a surprise for fashion watchers, Sydney’s own CBD has been skipped over. H&M will instead open its first Sydney store at North Ryde’s newly renovated Macquarie shopping centre, in the city’s north-west.
H&M is expected to open in mid-October, so there’s not long to wait before you can dress the kids in the best of Swedish fashion. As well as childrenswear, the new Sydney store is expected to stock H&M’s affordable range of nursery homewares, as shown here in images from H&M Melbourne. And if all goes well, H&M may expand to other parts of Sydney too.
Japanese fashion giant Uniqlo already has a pop-up store in Sydney’s CBD, but will open a second, much larger flagship store at Macquarie Centre before the end of the year, making it even easier for Sydneysiders to get their hands on the colourful basics that this brand is known for. Here’s a little peek from another recently opened Uniqlo store to give you all a little taste of what to expect!
