One Hot Mumma? Yes please – I want to be that! The name grabs you straight away, and the program is as fab as it sounds. If you’re from Melbourne, the carefully tailored pre and postnatal yoga and Pilates programs at One Hot Yoga & Pilates in South Yarra are certainly worth a visit.
From prenatal exercise to postnatal recovery, classes at One Hot Yoga & Pilates aim to prepare your body – and mind – for the work of labour and motherhood. As part of their launch day, I participated in yoga and Pilates classes and both classes were absolutely fantastic. I quite honestly felt incredible afterwards.
The staff are friendly, highly trained and talk you through every step if you’re a rookie like me. So, first timers, fear not! (Oh and don’t worry, the images in this post are of more advanced classes from the studio – not the One Hot Mumma classes!)
Lucinda Mills, yoga and Pilates instructor and founder, started her business after experiencing a profound difference between her first and second post-birth recoveries. Pilates was the key to her wellbeing and she hasn’t looked back.
Through the new program, you’re supported every step of the way – before pregnancy, during pregnancy and after birth. Two months after your baby arrives, One Hot Mumma members receive a postnatal consultation from their teacher to develop a program that will help recovery and rebuilding after birth.
I was truly blown away by how beautiful the spaces are too. Who wouldn’t want to exercise here?
For $50 a week, a One Hot Mumma membership includes two one-hour prenatal classes per week: a Reformer Pilates class, which works to improve core and pelvic integrity, and a mat based yoga conditioning class that incorporates restorative, body rolling techniques and a focus on mindfulness.
