Ever wondered how likely it is you’ll have twins? Or whether your child will have red hair or be left-handed? Here are 7 common genetic characteristics explained, to give you an idea of what to expect and help demystify how your child got that one seemingly random trait!

7. Height

How tall your child is going to be is most often genetic too. So if your baby daddy is tall then your children are likely to be too, although this is not always the case because other factors like nutrition and health can also impact growth and development.

There is a rough height estimation method to predict children's adult height, so try this out for a bit of fun: simply take the average height of yourself and the father, and then add two inches for a boy or minus two inches if you have a girl. Voila! (Please note this formula is not foolproof but it's the closest thing to a crystal ball we have right now).

Does your child have any rare or interesting genetic traits?
