Here’s great news for those constantly on the lookout for ways to improve the ratio of food eaten to food-left-to-rot in their child’s lunchbox. The next innovation in lunchbox technology is ready for preorder.
Remember OmieBox? We told you about the Kickstarter campaign to launch the product last year, and I am cursing that I didn’t get in early and support them right off the bat, because these babies require patience and ingenuity to come by.
The OmieBox is a bento style lunchbox with a twist. It has the option to store hot food right beside the cold food, without spills and without affecting the temperature of the food. The genius compartment is a removable insulated container with a child-friendly wide lid, enabling your child to enjoy warm pasta and cold berries from the same container. If you choose not to use the insulated bowl, the space is the perfect size for a sandwich.
If you want to get your hands on an OmieBox, they are now available for pre-order, with an estimated delivery in January, 2016, just in time for the start of the school year. OmieLife do not yet ship internationally, so this is where you will need to be creative and use US- based friends or a freight-forwarder to get the OmieBox to your door.
Available in blue, pink and meadow, each with a yellow handle, the OmieBox retails for US$49.50 from OmieLife
