General Manager – ANZ

Babyology is one of Australia’s largest, fastest growing and most engaged online communities. We’re a lifestyle brand that keeps hip parents and their bubs up to date with the world of baby-related design, recipes, travel, parenting tips and more.

In the last 18 months our business grown considerably. We’re excited that over 1.2 million Australian mum’s now visit our site each month and we have a super-engaged Facebook community of almost a million people.

Our business currently covers four areas: content, digital media sales, e-commerce quarterly subscription boxes and live events. Our clients come in all shapes and sizes, from local Australian designers, to international household brands.

To super-charge Babyology’s growth in 2016 and beyond, we need a rockstar GM to lead the businesses as we scale. Reporting directly to the founder and CEO, you will manage a team of 25+ to develop and grow the Babyology ecosystem. This is first and foremost a role for a strong marketer, focused on reaching new users and extending the Babyology brand to the masses. But as the GM, you’ll also be responsible for operational excellence and maintaining ‘Babyology’ quality throughout the user and customer experience.

What you’ll do

  • Take full ownership and delivery of Babyology’s operations, product road-map, marketing, sales strategy and execution.
  • Be an individual contributor, whilst building and managing a high-performance team
  • Use your influencing and relationship-building skills to provide amazing client service; You anticipate how decisions are made, uncovering the business needs of our clients so we can deliver digital media products that help them grow.
  • Work closely with our product and engineering teams to constantly iterate and improve our offering based on customer feedback
  • Shape the Babyology brand and understand our customers, competition and products inside and out.
  • Establish processes and best practices that help our sales team build strong client relationships.

Your Background

  • 10+ years of business development and/or marketing experience in digital media & content.
  • Proven experience at growing a team that successfully delivers sustainable results.
  • Experience with establishing, maintaining and leveraging C-Level relationships
  • Strong analytically – you use always use data to drive your decision making
  • Ability to fuse business, technology, strategy, finance and legal concepts to lead complex, multi-faceted deals
  • Management experience of leading a team of at least 10+ employees.
  • Experience hiring and managing business development resources that are remote (regionally or overseas).
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as leadership skills.
