Children’s Morning Routines

Children’s Morning Routines: Parents Guide

It can be difficult to get everyone out the door on time, whether you are a morning person. In theory, it seems simple: wake up, dress, eat breakfast, and brush your teeth. For some reason, it is almost impossible to get up and go.

What is the best way to make the mornings easier for your children? How can you ensure they get dressed the very first time, not the fifth, when you ask them, and so that their hats aren’t missing?

There is. It comes down to just two things: a routine that they can follow and a place where they can keep their belongings so they don’t have to hunt for them.

You need to start by finding a motivator. This is something that will encourage the children to leave on time. The Commando could come every morning to yell at the kids, but these ideas are just as effective.

Morning routines for safe kids

Some apps can help your kids track their time in the mornings. They allow parents to set tasks and the time limit for each.

Happy Kids Timer

The Happy Kids Timer app rewards kids for completing their chores on time with stars and certificates. Get it on Apple devices now.

Kazu Time

Kazu Time uses a cute puppy named Kazu, along with his puppy friends, to help kids stay on track. They can earn shooting stars for beating the timer. The app is available for both Apple and Android devices and costs between $1.99 and $2.89.

Morning Routine Charts

You can also use a morning chart if you prefer not to have any digital devices in the morning. Etsy has some beautiful ones for purchase, but if you want to get started right away, there are many free printables available online.

This one is from Viva Veltoro. If you laminate the pages, your child can use an erasable marker to cross out each task and then wipe it clean every day.

This cute set of magnets from The Trip Clip will be perfect for you. It comes in different sets of 20 magnets that are pre-printed.

You can also get creative and make your chore chart with the tasks and rewards that you want. This simple lift-the-flap idea is from Mas & Past. Check out their tutorial and then get creative with your own.

Stations of Organisation

Step two is to get products and a space where you can keep all your stuff organised. We made a great investment last year by setting up an “organisation station” to organise the school supplies for our children. There are separate sections for uniforms, shoes, hats, homework folders, and a few hooks to hang jackets, jumpers, and backpacks.

Here’s an amazing set-up: Now Our House is a Home transformed a section of the hallway that was unused into a ‘command centre’ for her family. It’s so clever!

You and your kids will soon get in the habit of keeping all the items you use every day together. This way, you won’t have to run around the house looking for lost sports shoes or school caps. This is a big win for us!

Enjoy a happier and less stressful morning.

Morning Routines to Make Your Kids Happy and Healthy

How did you start your day as a child? Do you consider yourself to be a morning person? I usually had a bowl of sugary cereal, followed by cartoons and my mum pestering me to get ready for the school day. I’ve never been a morning person. My habits didn’t help me get a good start.

No matter if you send your children to traditional school or homeschool them, getting them up and ready for the day can be challenging. A morning routine makes me feel more calm and excited about the day. I also believe that it sets children up for success.

Around mid-December, I would start planning my New Year’s resolutions. I had a long list of things I could do to improve my life. My list included drinking freshly squeezed orange juice, exercising, and meditating. It was only a list, and it never came to pass. It worked for about a month, but then it became too much, and I went back to my old habits.

I’ve decided to try one new thing in my morning routine this year. Lemon water. That’s it. After 8 months, I’m proud to say that I still drink my lemon water every day, and so do my children. I started taking supplements and drinking celery juice. What I discovered about myself is that I need to start small. Setting very small, manageable goals. Once I’ve mastered one thing, such as pulling out the lemon squeezer when I enter the kitchen, I can add another.

You may be reading this article because you’re looking to make some changes to your morning routine. You may want to change your morning routine. Now is the time to start changing them. Begin with one thing at a time. Beginner recipes are usually easier. Celery juice is not a good place to start! This is a good one to start with! Share this with your family to get everyone ready.

Here are some ideas for a good morning routine.

1. Meditate or pray.

Tip: Since my children are usually up early, I have limited time to accomplish this. You can spend some time alone if you are an early riser. It’s only a few moments, but that is enough to set an intention for the day. This helps me feel positive and prepared for what lies ahead.

2. To start your day, drink lemon water at room temperature with honey.

Tip: I make this in large quantities for us all. I use about 2 TBSP organic honey and 2-3 organic lemons. I make enough for my husband and me to have 16 ounces and the kids 8 ounces each. This is an excellent way to flush toxins from the body and hydrate it for the rest of the day. Wait 15 minutes before eating or drinking anything.

3. If you’re drinking fresh juice, it is a bonus if the juice contains celery.

It can be a challenge to start this morning routine because of the cleanup and preparation involved. If you do not have a juicer, you will also need to purchase one. But for me, starting my day with raw, live juice is a life-changing experience. It floods my system with nutrients. My kids are likely to drink less water throughout the day, so I make lemon water with the juice. This will hydrate our bodies and keep us hydrated all morning. Celery can be juiced, and it is best to drink the juice alone. Start small and gradually increase the amount. This juice is amazing for cleaning out pathogens and viruses. For more information on the benefits of celery, I suggest you visit Medical Medium. Any raw juice will do, but celery is the best. After drinking your juice, wait 15 minutes before you eat anything else.

4. Eat a healthy breakfast.

Tip: If you have a busy schedule in the morning, it’s tempting to grab a quick and unhealthy breakfast like sugary cereal or bagel. However, many healthy options are also fast and easy. My favourite recipe is a homemade granola-topped detox smoothie. Oatmeal is another favourite in our home. I rotate about seven breakfasts, so I don’t need to worry about preparation because I always have the ingredients on hand.

5. Take Supplements

Tip: Even though I try to cook healthy food for my children, I don’t feel confident in the quality of the food we eat these days. I also believe that our immune system needs to be strong because of all the things going on around us. I keep a bin of supplements on my counter. I give each person a multivitamin and zinc. Vitamin C and B12 are also included. For myself, I take a few other supplements.

6. Morning duties

Tip: I give my children a morning task that they must complete before they can eat their breakfast. You can give your kids a morning task, such as cleaning the bathroom or scooping the litter box. This will help your household run smoothly.

7. Shower or Bath

Tip: If you are pressed for time in the morning, this can be done the night before. My kids prefer to take a shower or bathe in the morning so that they can feel energised and awake. We wait 15 minutes after drinking our lemon water before we eat or drink anything. This is a great time to shower.

8. Making Lunch

You can help your kids pack their lunch if you have the time. Start buying only the items you want them to select if you’re worried about their choices. My husband used to be annoyed when our children would choose chips as their lunch. After a while, I told him to stop buying chips, and it would no longer be an issue. It may sound silly, but this is true. Keep fun foods for special occasions out of the section in your pantry that is used to pack lunches. In my book, My Magical Foods, I provide a list of ideas for healthy snacks that you can use as a way to encourage your children to make good choices. This is a great one to do the night before if you are pressed for time in the morning.

9. Exercise

Tip: Although I am not a morning person myself, many others are. Even a walk in the open air can inspire you to begin your day. You are also teaching your children to move a part of their daily routine.

10. Get the Job Done

Tip: Our brains are ready to go for many people in the morning. This is a great time to do some focused work. It’s a good time for kids to read a novel.

You will no longer dread the morning routine. Your morning can be designed to ensure everyone is set up for success. Start slowly and gradually introduce one habit until it becomes a natural routine. You can save time by doing things the night before. A healthy, calm morning routine will help you start your day off right!
