Babyology has just become the first Australian parenting website to reach one million likes on Facebook. Babyology, already Australia’s largest digital media company for parents, is now also officially its most popular on social media.

Founder and managing editor Mandi Gunsberger today sent her thanks to every one of the million for helping the company hit the magic mark on Facebook. “This is a huge milestone for Babyology and one that we’re very proud of,” Ms Gunsberger says. “We produce content that Australian parents – and especially Australian mums – really want to read and share.”

A recent survey of more than 2,600 Australian mums for Babyology found that more than 60 per cent rely on social media to keep up with what is going on. And Facebook is one of the biggest sources of news and information for these Millennial mums, the Secret Lives of Mums report showed, with 31 per cent using Facebook to research products and services and another 40 per cent to communicate with businesses.

“When you consider that respondents also revealed they visit Facebook several times a day, Babyology’s one million milestone is a huge opportunity for various brands that are looking to reach parents and influence their purchasing decisions,” Mandi says.

Ms Gunsberger started Babyology in 2007 and it has since grown into Australia’s largest digital media company for parents. Its key audience is 20-45 year old women with higher household income and higher level of education than the Australian average.

Both the Babyology Facebook page and Babyology website are updated 25-35 times daily with news, light entertainment, products and ideas from Australia and around the globe from its team of writers and journalists. Babyology is considered the online market leader in editorial content for Australian parents and has many other areas of reach including events, subscription boxes and video content.

Ms Gunsberger was recently named one of Australia’s Top 50 Female Entrepreneurs Under 40 and was included in the book ‘Inspiring Rare Birds’, which showcases inspiring women entrepreneurs in all fields.
