Megan Gale’s funny post about being “up all night raging” with her BFF is GOLD

Megan Gale and baby Rosie

What a party animal, right?! In one picture, Megan Gale’s partner, AFL player Shaun Hampson has captured the exquisite torture of the first few weeks of life with a baby – and Megan has summed up how real the newborn struggle is.

When you've been up all night raging with your best girlfriend. We haven't known each other that long but she parties way harder than me. I really tried to keep up with her but she's an absolute party animal, drinks non stop pretty much all night long and when she's had too much, she just does a huge vom and keeps going. What a machine! And just when most of us are pulling up stumps and ready to sleep, she just keeps on going. She also has this quirky little habit of pooing and weeing on my hands in the 30 second window that her nappy is off. What a little kidder!! Like most party animals though she crashes out during the day so I just have to sleep when I can get it. I'm determined to keep up with her though. ❤️🌹 📷: @shampson_

BFF Rosie

Megan and Shaun excitedly welcomed their second baby just over two weeks ago, Rosie May, a sister for the pair’s 3-year-old son, River.

While they’re obviously delighted to have this new little person in their lives, they’re also undertaking an excellent refresher course in what it is to have a newborn in the house. And let’s face it, it’s easy to forget how tricky the first few weeks/months are, as your children grow a little older and time heals those foggy wounds.

Maybe it’s selective memory sparked by the trauma of sleep deprivation that encourages us to remember the good bits and forget the slog? Maybe it’s just exhaustion. Whatever it is it’s very clever and has many parents pining for another newborn long before they logically should.

Like riding a bike

Megan not only longed for a newborn, she grew and birthed one, and is now back in the tiny baby bubble.

It’s plain to see that it’s all coming back to Megan, as she and Rosie get to know each other and work out how this tiny girl fits into their lives.

The model mum shared their progress, posting the cutest update about her new “best girlfriend” alongside a pic of her and Rosie dozing together. It’s striking a familiar chord with other parents, reminding them of those exhausting and lovely early days.

“When you’ve been up all night raging with your best girlfriend. We haven’t known each other that long but she parties way harder than me,” Megan wrote.

Babies gone wild

She revealed that Rosie is undertaking a kind of “babies gone wild” approach to life, and she’s finding it hard to keep pace.

“I really tried to keep up with her but she’s an absolute party animal, drinks non stop pretty much all night long and when she’s had too much, she just does a huge vom and keeps going. What a machine!”

“And just when most of us are pulling up stumps and ready to sleep, she just keeps on going. She also has this quirky little habit of pooing and weeing on my hands in the 30 second window that her nappy is off. What a little kidder!!”

We’ve all had a friend like this, right?

“Like most party animals though she crashes out during the day,” Megan continued, “so I just have to sleep when I can get it. I’m determined to keep up with her though.”

We admire her resolve and are very much looking forward to keeping up with Rosie too.
