Kim Kardashian just shared the cutest photo of her baby Chicago
Kim Kardashian just shared an adorable photo of her third child with Kanye West, and it’s the gift fans had long been waiting for!
“Dreams come true”
Chicago was born with the help of a gestational carrier on January 15, with Kim describing her connection to her new baby girl as “instant”.
“Kanye and I are happy to announce the arrival of our healthy, beautiful baby girl,” Kim wrote on her blog after Chicago’s birth. “We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care. North and Saint are especially thrilled to welcome their baby sister.”
“Biologically mine and Kanye’s”
Complications with previous pregnancies meant using a gestational carrier was the couple’s only option – apart from adoption. Kim explained that while Chicago is biologically theirs, they needed some help with carrying her.
“After exploring many options, Kanye and I decided to use a gestational carrier,” she explained. “Although I have used the term surrogate in the past, a gestational carrier is actually the technical term for a woman who carries a baby that she has no biological relationship to. A traditional surrogate donates her egg, is artificially inseminated with the father’s sperm and then carries the baby to term. Since we implanted my fertilized egg in our gestational carrier, our baby is biologically mine and Kanye’s.”

Chicago, nicknamed “Chi” (which is pronounced “shy”) is part of the excellent glut of Kardashian-Jenner infants. Sister Kylie gave birth to a daughter named Stormi 3 weeks ago, and Khloe Kardashian is due to deliver her first child in June.
No doubt this photo is the first of many we’ll be seeing of Chicago, and we are super glad the floodgates have now opened!
