Not a cow!

The Elvie cordless, wearable pump has just nabbed itself a viral advertising campaign, which compares old school breast pumps to the milking machines used in the dairy industry.

The ad has caught the eye of many mums who love the revolutionary idea of tucking their breast pump neatly into their bra and getting on with their day.

“Breast pumping shouldn’t make you feel like a dairy cow!” Elvie said on Facebook. “Introducing Elvie Pump, the world’s first silent wearable breast pump. Cut those cords and sing along: ‘these are not udders, they’re my boobs’!”

“When it comes to breast pumps, the future is wearable,” Tania Boler, CEO and founder of Elvie confirmed to CNet. “In two years’ time, most of the shelves with breast pumps will look completely different.”

Pump on-the-go

Mums used to be relegated to the couch with bulky pumps whirring away at their boobs in an effort to keep their kiddos topped-up. This streamlined, wearable pump aims to change all that – and disrupt the marketplace in general.

The Elvie Pump is a silent, cordless, portable, wearable pump designed to make expressing breast milk a total breeze. It charges via a USB port and connects to an app to monitor breast milk output and other boob stats.

It’s designed with sustainability in mind too. It collects breast milk in a reusable, dishwasher safe, BPA-free plastic container. The pump is available for purchase via a waiting list at the moment. Convenience comes at a price, with the Elvie unit retailing at US$479.
