Tiny babies are a law unto themselves, exhibiting some weird tricks that’d seem more suited to a B grade horror movie than your cosy, bunny-adorned nursery. Fear not! Weird is the new normal when it comes to fresh babies and is totally a-okay.

Here’s a bunch of potentially alarming newborn behaviours that are nothing to worry about – and 100 percent routine.

1. They have almost 100 more bones than adults do

Adults have 206 bones. Newborns have a way more impressive count of 300. Go babies!

In time many of your baby's "extra" bones will firm up and fuse together - or ossify - and their own total count will slowly decrease and round off at just over 200.
