My seven-year-old son loves the iPad. If he was allowed, he’d watch it for hours on end, possibly even for days. He gets sucked into watching the latest YouTube stars and sits transfixed in an impenetrable world. Removing the device from him is never fun.
Remember when travelling overseas was fun? There was the thrilling possibility of an upgrade, a massage in the lounge before a flight and free wine and movies en route.
Well, it’s happened. I’ve officially become my parents, as I just can’t seem to stop comparing my children’s lives to how my own childhood played out. I just want them to quit their whinging and realise just how lucky they are they don’t have it as tough as I did.
