Heading to Tokyo in the next few weeks? Make sure you see the flying penguins.
You probably thought penguins couldn’t fly, right? Well, at Tokyo’s Sunshine Aquarium, penguins are flying every day as part of a special exhibit.
The Sunshine Aquarium is located on the roof of a nine-story building in Tokyo’s Sunshine City. The aquarium has an elevated pool, the ‘Aqua Ring’, that gives visitors the chance to see some serious swimming action from below. Normally reserved for sea lions, the Aqua Ring has become the domain of the penguins for a very short time.

The flying penguin exhibit is only open between 6.30pm and 7.30pm and is expected to run through September 2, 2012. If you already have travel plans for Tokyo, put the Sunshine Aquarium on your ‘to-do’ list. No plans, but feel you can’t miss seeing a penguin “fly”?
