  1. I am on my second KinderKot which looks identical to the Childcare Dome. In fact I wonder about patent or whatever it’s called?
I LOVE it. My daughter has slept in it from 7 months and still fits at the size of a four-year-old. If a bed is available we leave out the mattress, but it’s comfortable enough for her to sleep in the floor. Being a nosey toddler I can ‘lock’ her in with a safety pin when in a room that shes not supposed to explore, she’s always been comfortable in there because the surroundings were familiar in any room and it’s so light to carry and takes up no space. The only negative is that I’ve had to invent clever solutions to keep the sleeping bag stationary.
And the reason we’re on our second one is that drunk husbands just aren’t capable of folding it up :(

  5. We’ve had the Phil and Teds for a number of years and it has been used for camping and at holiday houses and when visiting friends close by. Back then, the KinderKot and the Phil and Ted’s were the only choices and although the KinderKot is much easier and faster to put up we wanted the stability of the Phil and Teds. I thought the KinderKot would be better for short visits and outings and the Phil and Teds better for holidays and sleepovers. With other siblings we also wanted something that would not collapse if a toddler tried to climb it or lean on it etc. I will agree that it is also great that it also serves as a portable play pen and we’ve carried it outside for confined play on holidays. It does come with pegs to pin it to the ground if necessary too. The side and top opening makes it more versatile. Very happy with it but would like to be better at putting it up quickly.

  6. Phil and teds traveller has been great for us from birth through to now (DD is 18 mths) and beyond I’d assume. We always take it for consistency when we are traveling abroad. They may provide a cot, but you never know what you are going to get and good sleep for her (and me) is a must on holiday
