Wee Wood Mushrooms – bring a bit of magic to the toy world

Finding toys that are incredibly original, inspirational and not made of plastic doesn’t happen all too often. I can say it most definitely happened when I clapped eyes on these adorable vintage-look mushrooms from Etsy shop Wee Wood Natural Toys. Waldorf-inspired, the story of these mushrooms is just as precious: it starts in the woodlands of magical Misty Mountain, where they grow and flourish in a brilliant array of colours and sizes alongside their fairy and gnome friends.

Being completely natural, non-toxic and handmade makes them perfect for any type of play. Oh my, children’s imaginations will run wild. I can envision my daughter using these little forest lovelies with her dollhouse garden, carefully placing them in position and then colour coordinating them (she’s very into colours right now).

Wee Wood can provide them coloured or natural to allow for a fabulous crafting day of painting your own mushrooms. The mushrooms are available in varied sets, with prices ranging from US$6 to US$20 plus shipping to Australia. While you’re at Wee Wood, don’t forget to check out their lovely range of other natural wood learning and playing toys.

  1. I loved the review and purchased the mega set of mushrooms as well as a set of gnomes. Unfortunately it took 3 months from my original email to them, to the time I received my order, they have been most unhelpful and not much communication. Also the workmanship is far inferior to that depicted on their website, with the painting appearing rushed with many smudges and imperfections. I don’t blame babyology in anyway, just wanted to bring this to the attention of the site and readers.

  2. I also ordered a few things from them thinking the mushrooms and other toys looked fabulous on the photos. Once ordered (and paid) it took over 2 months to receive the mushrooms-which were painted badly and rough for little fingers. Then I never received the other half of my order at all. Repeated requests for a refund were never answered and I never got my money back. It was such a disappointment and I want other Babyologists to be aware of this so the same won’t happen to them.
