The ‘nee-naws’ in our house get such a rigorous workout that we can never ever have too many. With two boys who use all of their toys every day, I almost consider it an obligation to myself to get one of these lush Green Toys Fire Trucks.
There is a formula at work here; cool fire trucks equal mummy sanity – no that’s not a complete paradox. While the incessant boy-made siren noises might irritate some, I just thank my lucky stars that I’m not engaged in a perilous game of Connect Four with a three-year-old.
This is no ordinary engine though because it comes with serious eco-cred being one of the Green Toys family of recycled plastic toys. We wrote about this brand in 2008 and we’re suitably impressed that all toys are made from recycled milk bottles.
There are some interesting facts about the environmental impact of Green Toys products - every kilo of recycled milk containers used in the making of Green Toys saves energy equal to six thousand AAA batteries, enough electricity to power a TV for six weeks or keep a laptop computer running for two months! The products look good and are virtually unbreakable, a godsend in this tile-floored house of ours!
Head on over to Eco Toys and pick up a wonderful Green Toys Fire Truck for $54.95 plus post.

Parenthood had these for $30 when we got ours a few months back. We love green toys fell in love with them whilst living in the states.
It really is a lovely truck as are all the green toys but I bought ours from amazon for $20 plus $9.95 shipping which is a bargain. The bucket and spade set is the most used in our family and still looks brand new and doesn’t fade in the sun like all the other plastic sets we have.
