I love the look of balance bikes. They’re undeniably cool though I can’t help but think they have a limited life span. After all, sooner or later pedals will be required. Traditionally, the introduction of pedals means having to buy a complete new bike but no more. Now you can have both styles in one bike and who doesn’t love that idea?
The crew at Hip Kids has hit the mark with the 2-in-1 Steel Balance Bike. It extends the life of a balance bike by enabling pedals to be attached, transforming it into a traditional bike. Genius! Now children can master the act of balancing and scooting along until ready for pedals. Training wheels can also be attached for extra peace of mind for nervous riders (or parents!).
The Hip Kids balance bike is made from steel, has front and rear brakes, adjustable height seat, rubber tyres and comes complete with the drive system (that would be the crank, pedals and chain) and a set of training wheels. Take a look at the short video below to see it in action.
The 2-in-1 Steel Balance Bike is priced at $129 and comes in blue, red and pink. They are at a special introductory price of $109 for the rest of July. Get yours from Hip Kids with delivery available all over Australia.

Hi,
Please help me to find a stockist of your 2 in 1 Balance Bikes in the UK, or Europe if they will ship to Ireland. It is just what I am looking for but can’t find a local stockist. I’m in Ireland, but can usually get delivery from any UK store. Any help appreciated,
Catherine

hi, can a 2 year old use the balance bike? what hight do you have to be to be able to reach the ground? thanks for your help.
Hi Britta that’s a really great question! Yes I believe a two year old can use a balance bike – both of my boys were riding a ‘traditional’ bike at two-years-old.
If you’re considering a Hip Kids bike they’re recommended for children aged three to six years, maybe send them a quick email asking about the lowest seat height position so you will know if your little person will be able to get up on the seat or not!
Regardless, little people love pushing around a balance bike before they gain enough confidence to have both balance and momentum!
Hi, I’m trying to buy this balance bike for the discounted price for July $109 but it keeps coming up with the full price on the hip kids website. Are you able to help me with this??
I had a quick look at the Hip Kids website Joanne but I can’t see the discounted price for this particular balance bike. If you have a code that you’re trying to use, maybe shoot them an email – I’m sure they’ll be only too happy to help!
