Did you ever cheat doing your Rubik’s Cube by peeling off a sticker, repositioning it and saying you’d solved it? I’ll admit to trying that trick….perhaps I should have had the Cubikus blocks to play with instead.
The Cubikus is one of those puzzles that appear simple, but looks can be deceiving. The aim is to arrange the eight brightly coloured cubes so that one colour appears on each side. Perhaps this could be considered the advanced version and little kids can simply enjoy playing with the beautifully coloured blocks.
The Cubikus is US$46 and is available from Romp. There is certainly a lot to love at Romp. We’ve reviewed their walking wooden animals and their bright rainbow puzzle in the past, but there are lots of new treasures in store for 2009.
I particularly love the crayon stones which we have also mentioned before (they look good enough to eat but I really shouldn’t say that as we once had a red crayon-eating incident with a two year old in my house and it wasn’t pretty). The wooden stacker in rainbow hues is also beautifully simple.
The crayon stones are US$5.50 and the rainbow stacker is US$40. Romp ship to Australia.
