The world’s coolest ‘balance’ bike.

bike101 The worlds coolest balance bike.

My oldest two boys learnt to ride the traditional way – training wheels and lots of ‘Mulga Bill’ moments. They were both about to start school before they mastered their bikes. In contrast, my third son started on a balance bike when he was three years old. By the time he was four he was riding confidently on a proper bike, without training wheels and the whole learning process was so much easier.

So while the traditional progression may be from tricycle to bike, I’m convinced that mastering balance before learning how to pedal is the way to go. Lessons in balance now come a lot sooner with the BIT bike by Spanish designer, Glodos. Made of curved laminated wood with wide wheels for stability and an innovative handlebar integrated into the chassis the BIT bike is undoubtedly one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a long time.

Apart from function and style, the BIT has practical features including handlebars that are a convenient carry handle and a carry bag so that you can take your BIT wherever you want.

The BIT is €135. Contact Glodos directly regarding shipping to Australia.
