I too have very fond memories of playing with this Treehouse toy… I am now 31 & it is in such good condition even though it was very “loved”. I brought mine home from my grandparents house when I had my daughter 5yrs ago… She loves playing with it almost more than I did!! I was considering buying her a new one, but after previous comments about the quality, I might re-think this as there’s nothing worse than not getting value for money :-)

I was so excited that Santa brought my little girl this tree however I have had to send it back to the elves as it is has too many sharp edges which would cut her mouth as she is putting everything in it. I also agree that for the money the quality is extremely poor and would certainly not last 30 years!!
Lets hope the company takes these comments into consideration and improve on future makes BUT not charge us twice the price. :(

After this review I bought this for my three year old for Christmas. And I must say the quality has changed over 30 years. It is really really poor.

The little people keep falling into the crack under the lift and I have to actually get a screw driver from the shed and pull it apart. It is cheap plastic, with only French instructions, you apply all the stickers yourself and hope for the best.

This is not the toy I remember. At $195, it should be little more polished.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this tree house in a magazine. It was my tree house that I had as a kid and I loved playing with it and now its back, OMG!!!

I was lucky to enjoy this toy as a child. Unfortunately, in my day…when you outgrew a toy it was passed down to younger cousins or friends and that is where mine went. I did purchase one a few years ago on ebay and are looking forward to watching my children play with it and enjoy it. I will enjoy playing with it again too! A delightful toy.

I totally agree Suzi about the imaginative play, as stated in my post. My issue was the price not that it dosn’t do anything. I had one as a kid and had hours of fun which is what i would love my kids to experience, however being in a single income family I find the price expensive and therefore I am unable to give my kids the joy I had…

I think quite the opposite Heidi – how wonderful to see a toy with no bells and whistles, which really lets children create their own new worlds and characters. This kind of imaginative play is shown to be very beneficial to children’s development :) If they are spoon-fed toys with pre-determined functions and personalities, then how do kids ever reach their full potential in terms of creating these things for themselves? That said, yes it’s an expensive toy, but holds a lot of nostalgia for parents! :)

I would seriously love this for my girls as I had one when i was a kid. However I find the price to be a bit extreme for something that dosn’t do much (except let the kids use there imagination). Such a shame, I have been looking for one for ages…

Ive been looking at buying a vintage one but they range up to about $400 online for one from the 70′s… Until now!!!!!! I found one from 1977 in MINT PERFECT condition with ALL the characters… at a flea market where I live…. for $40 @ 50% off !!!! $20 !!!!!!!! So Stoked !!!

I love this tree house. Have had mine for approx 30 odd years. Brings back sooo many wonderful memories. Has been played with and loved by all my nieces.

I recently bought this for my daughter because I too have very fond memories of my childhood playing with this for hours on end. The toy is expensive at around $180 and I was shocked at the poor quality of all the pieces. It looks very cheaply made. I just hope it stands up to hours of play.

I had one of these when I was a kid and spent hours playing with them. However I must say I am amazed at how expensive they now are. If you love treehouses have a look at the Calafant Tree House. A cardboard treehouse that you put together, decorate and then play. No scissors or glue needed. Google search Calafant Tree House. They are new to Australia, designed by a german cartoonist and only $29.95 – for an eco alternative tree house.

I too had this as a kid! Oh the memories! My Mum told me she threw my old one out a couple of years ago (sob) so I did an ebay search thinking my son would LOVE one but had no luck. Looks like my luck has changed :)

I’m buying this for me and pretending it’s for my daughter. I loved this toy as a kid – it outlasted all other fads. I can’t wait to get my hands on one!!
