I often wonder what went through audience’s heads when in 1927, Fritz Lang’s cinematic masterpiece Metropolis was released, which featured the divine robot Maria – it must’ve been an incredible sight for the people of that era. Just look at us now, with multiple robotic products for home use, C-3PO and R2-D2 are household names, and still the fascination continues with the release of the Astro Boy movie.
