Puchi Petites by Japan’s Re-Ment is marketed as food for Barbies. I’m not entirely convinced that Barbie eats a whole lot and even if she did, I don’t think she’d be scoffing too many ‘curry donuts’!
Scaled at 1:6, the detail in each tiny morsel of Puchi Petites’ food is incredible. The range of foods available reads like the world’s largest smorgasbord, from fruit smoothies and waffles to miniature ‘Mexican dinners’ and bottles of Sicilian lemonade.
As you might expect, some things get a little lost in translation and when you’re talking about food, they suddenly sound somewhat less appealing! I can’t imagine Barbie serving Ken a ‘Prague Cabbage Dinner’ followed by ‘Cream Puffs and a Rich Pudding’, but I could be wrong. And I had to remind myself of our audience before looking at the sections ‘Girls Like Tarts’ and ‘Jiggling Fruit Jellies’ – who knows what’s in store there!
Re-Ment has a few other Barbie accessories – an ‘Accounting Essentials’ kit containing a calculator, a takeaway coffee and stilettos and the ‘After 5 Singles Party’ kit which is quite frankly, just bizarre! So if your Barbie needs her own ‘Homemade Plum Wine’ kit or wants to indulge in ‘cotton candy’, you’re sure to find all that you need at Puchi Petites.
Prices start from US$4.25 and items can be shipped internationally by arrangement.
