Remember before the world of Sony Play Stations, iPods, portable DVD players and smart phones, when quiet time was exactly that – quiet time?
Old School Shop’s philosophy is ‘to bring back the simplicity of childhood with the focus being on quality time’. I thank them for reminding me of how it used to be back when I was a child and how I now can’t shake that feeling of wanting to hide my children’s iPods and slow down our busy schedules.
Old School Shop provides parents with fabulous tools for making the most of quiet time and turning it into a delightful bonding experience between children and parents. The Little Box Of Things is a quaint book-fold box that houses thirty original whimsical illustrations and their corresponding word. Regardless of whether you talk about the picture, practice the spelling of the word or make up a silly story using random cards as prompts – it’s all special bonding that you will both appreciate.
The ABC of Strengths Poster is equally delightful, listing strengths (kindness, bravery and resilience for example) and giving children the opportunity to tell others how they perceive each strength. A great tool for teaching about behaviour and treating other people mindfully.
All these and more are available from Old School Shop.
