Well we’re not going to deny that Easter is all about family get togethers, chocolate, and for some, a time to reflect on their faith. There can be more to it of course, especially when you have differing beliefs about the shape Easter should take in your home or don’t want to overload the kids with cheap chocolate. You can make it fun no matter what age the children, so come see our Easter picks for 2011!

You’re not alone if you just went to heaven over these divine Huggalugs Bunny Beanies photos! We can think of no better way to record those first Easters photographically – pop one on that newborn bub or newly active toddler and you’ll have the snaps which will endure throughout their lives as the very sweetest moments. These are absolute must-haves and are available in pink and blue in sizes to fit newborn up to two years from Urban Baby.

For me there is absolute beauty in the onset of autumn; the cooling of the air, the less frantic pace and, of course rugging those little ones up in the most gorgeous rompers, coats and layers of comfy warmth. Is there anything cuter than a baby in a romper? Yes, perhaps a baby in a Bebe by Minihaha velour bunny romper (above top) and Huggalugs Bunny Beanie! The romper is $34.95 in sizes 0000 to 0 from Billy Lids.
Celebrate that first Easter with something truly special – an heirloom bracelet from Little Lamb (above left). The presentation of this little precious gift is just impeccable with a wee little lamb (of course!) adorning a simple silver circle. It’s $80 from Bubba Bling.
If you’d prefer a bunny version (below) then it’s also $80 from The Gift Corner. There is a set of three little knitted eggs (below right) for $12.95, available from Happy Little Hippos and we also couldn’t resist that smiley bunny chap (above right) – he’s a fab handmade Mokuyusya Rabbit Rattle from Sustainababy.

That apple in the little ducky’s hands up there may as well be my heart; with that sweet little face, he has well and truly stolen it! Both the ducky toy ($48) and bunny teether ($18) are by Apple Park and are available from Billy Lids. I still have my baby’s first brush and it has seen a lot of use! You can’t beat the contemporary appeal of the Skip Hop baby comb and brush set ($34.95) from Urban Baby for a unique and useful Easter gift!

We can’t resist the sweet floppy ears and handmade quirkiness of these pretty En Gry & Sif bunnies from Plush Toys. They are NZ$64.95 each and come in pink or blue cardigans.

Just because it’s getting cooler we thought we’d include this exquisite Birdie Bassinet Blanket ($65) from Jacob & Bonomi. This divine decorator item which parents fall for and babies love to snuggle up to is made from pure brushed cotton.

I have a slight thing for the reproduction vintage fabrics and it’s lovely to see them used so prettily with chenille to make these Ellen Easter Babushka Dolls ($18) from Vintage Chenille. They’re made in Victoria, are safe for babies and something I would give to either a boy or a girl. Also check out the Evelyn Birdie Rattles ($12).
