There’s not a hint of a licensed character, plastic parts or battery compartments to be seen – but these endearing toys have all the wherewithal to be loved for a lot longer than a fleeting interest.
These British beauties are the handiwork of designer Sally Nencini. Her background in fashion has given her the expertise to create beautiful work, and her latest venture as a mother has given her the inspiration.

Sally designs and makes her machine-knitted goodies from super soft lambswool, and hand finishes many of her pieces. Each character is adorable, and just a little quirky. The lambswool dog, above, has a hand-embroidered face and wool felt eyes, and you can choose a couple of different colour options for his rather smart jumper. He costs about $44.80.

Likewise the knitted doll also has some different colour options. She’s rather cheeky with her winking eye and vintage-inspired look. She’s about $56.

The current obsession with owls doesn’t look like fading any time soon – and this guy has got to be one of the cutest around ($44.80), as does the handsome striped monkey below ($44.80).

Sally also makes a few other machine knitted items, including pencil bags ($44.80) and cushions. Sally Nencini ships to Australia.
