One parent’s joy could easily be another’s nightmare. And this kid's drum set certainly falls within those boundaries. As for me, I think it’s a great toy. If there’s going to be noise why not embrace it and let your children's creativity flourish. Well, I might be biased as my husband is a guitarist and perhaps we just want to encourage our little one’s musical abilities. Plus, I’m certainly not afraid of a little noise (if it’s at a reasonable hour of course).
Why, she might even be the next Ringo Starr and I’d like her to start early with this miniature drum kit. The tiny wooden set is very easy on the eyes and will not only enhance creativity but will increase hand-eye coordination. It even has a tiny cymbal, two sticks and two pads – very cool!
From Warm Biscuit for $US58 (will need a re-shipper). They also sell a mini banjo for the more adventurous.
Some assembly is required and the kit is recommended for kids three years and up.
Oh, why did I not know about these when my children were born? I am always looking for new gift ideas to give to the lucky parents of a wee little one. It's hard to find something that is a little different and not the ususal bodysuits, socks, bibs etc.
I came across these gorgeous Wee Gallery Flash Cards and love them. Wee Gallery prints come from hand-painted originals that take advantage of the visual strengths of your baby. Whimsical animals made up of black and white repeating shapes entertain and engage your little one while adding a stylish element to any nursery.
Each 5x7" card is beautifully finished with matte lamination and rounded corners ready to stand up to baby and toddler exploration. My favourites are the Garden animals and the new Dino range.
Wee Gallery also have a fantastic range of canvases, wall graphics and mobiles. Clip your flash cards to the cool urban stainless steel Kikkerland mobile kit and interchange with cute photos or pictures as baby gets older.
Wee Gallery Flash Cards come in a set of 6 different animals and best of all are available in Australia online from Urban Baby for only $22.95. Get Flashing!
A giant Liquorice Allsorts house – what could be better? The ultimate activity for sweet-loving children, this set comes with 25 individual soft pieces of make-believe candy which fit together to make a cubby house. Filled with bright colours and fun stripes, this is the ultimate kids’ fantasy.
The "house" comes packaged in a compact box on wheels for easy transportation; it weighs 26kg and all pieces are made from durable foam filled vinyl so they are easy to wipe clean.
Retailing for more than £500, I don’t imagine many families would buy this for their little ones alone. It seems more likely to be used at a playgroup or kindergarten. It is the kind of game that would be great for a group of kids to explore together.
Kids love to create, and what better way to let the little artistic imagination run free, than to let the kids design their own perfect home – well a mini-one that is?
Star Pad has blank white walls, roof, ceiling and windows and cute star cutouts so children can decorate the cubby house however they like, using whatever materials they desire. Kids get hours of entertainment from creating their own space and at this price, it could even be used as a one-off party game. Let a whole group of kids get involved and see what happens.
The height is 119cm, width 80cm and depth 80cm. It is also made and designed in Australia with fully recyclable materials. The possibilities are endless.
For only $34.95 plus delivery, that is a real bargain. The Star Pad was sent in to us by one of our readers, Kylie. Thanks for passing this along, we love this product and will be purchasing a few of these for friends.
In our high-tech world snail mail could easily become a thing of the past – but who doesn’t love to get a personalised letter, postcard or parcel in the post?
A fun way to encourage young children about the delights of sending and receiving mail, self-expression and reading is through Lets Play Mail.
The US-designed set comes with a mailbox, a drawstring mail bag, shipping box, three postcards, two envelopes, six stamps, six address labels and six messages. Stamps and messages stick to mail envelops and postcards with velcro. Soon the kids will be ready to send real mail!
There's also special delivery sets of letters To Santa, and another to Grandma and Pa. as well as invitations to special parties, and valentines for special friends.
Recommended for ages three and up. The full starter set costs $US49.50. Special delivery sets are $US39.50 and $US20 without the mail box and can be shipped internationally.
