My daughter is obsessed with building things right now and can’t get enough of making her own little houses, forts, planes, trees, animals or whatever else her flourishing imagination can come up with. It’s a marvel to witness.
When my first child was born, I was adamant that my house would not become home to a tribe of generic-looking stuffed animals. It did anyway, of course, but I’m sure I wouldn’t have minded so much if these little guys had been on the market back then.

Every child, big or small, needs something soft to cuddle. Of course, it has become apparent to us that not all softies are created equal so here’s some that sit comfortably at the top of the pile.

Old-style games will never go out of fashion – doctors and nurses, cowboys and Indians, tea parties, playing house and pretend fishing expeditions. They all captivate children with the thrill of grown-up role play while transporting them to an imaginary world that frees their creativity.

I would hate to spend large sums of cash on a doll’s house only to have it played with for a couple of weeks and then abandoned. So why not buy a cardboard one that can be put out for recycling once your kids have had their fun?
