It may be the naughty monkeys, it may be the natty headgear or it may be that my East European ancestry means I can actually pronounce Slobodkina without stuttering but I’ve always had a soft spot for classic children’s book Caps For Sale.
Here are a few more of our favourite picks from the Kids Instyle show that was in Sydney this week. Look out for our video coverage from the show tomorrow on Babyology.
One of our favourite distributors Lark has just started importing these Ladybird Activity Kits. The range includes Journals, Tins of Plasters, First Aid Kits, … [Read more.]
My daughter is a spectacularly messy eater. She’s also very stubborn and refuses to wear a bib. Which means I spend a rather long time in the laundry trying to get tomato and strawberry stains out of her designer clobber. But I think I’ve found the perfect foil for her messy ways.
A very stylish friend once told me after creating a beautiful nursery for her daughter: “Just because it’s a room for a baby doesn’t mean it has to look like its been designed by a baby”. What a lightbulb moment – it’s easy to get carried away so that in the end your child’s room … [Read more.]
Baby and children’s bed linen is quite often not up to muster for today’s more picky and discerning parents (I’ll include myself in this category). It seems we have to choose between quality or creative design, leading to a frustrated and lengthy search for the perfect bedding.
I’ll admit it, I’m a total sucker for pretty, frilly, feminine, 1950s-esque clothing for myself so it’s no big surprise that I can’t resist it in children’s fashion. My favourite kid’s labels are all about the dainty and darling with an undeniable originality. Threads that stand out and get noticed but don’t scream at you.
I don’t hide the fact that I like my little girl’s fashion to include bold rather than pastel colours. I also prefer structured clothing with clean lines rather than pieces that are frilly. So naturally the brand new label LOPPA caught my eye.
I love a surprise. And my daughter loves skirts. Happily for us, eclectic Melbourne boutique My Poppet loves both. Cinti, the devilishly clever and talented force behind the way-cool Caulfield South store, is stitching up a limited edition run of custom-made and designed skirts for little girls. Expect a little bit of frou-frou, a double-dab … [Read more.]
The second I laid eyes on these captivating retro suitcases, my mind went straight to my own little case from the late seventies. My mum happened to bring it to me last time she visited so I snapped a shot of it for you to see… yes they called me Suzette when I was three!
Name a Skip Hop product and we’re bound to have featured it. It’s no secret they make awesomely versatile nappy bags, change kits and feeding products. Those eye-catching new designs up there have just been released for the Duo and Dash bag ranges, with the new black Geo print for the Pronto change kit.
The only … [Read more.]
What happens when you combine hair necessities like ties and clips with very cool retro fabrics swathed around big buttons? The answer is a very happy girl.
I don’t think girls (or women for that matter) can get enough of hair accessories. My own daughter has an entire box dedicated to all things hair related. You … [Read more.]
I’m a sucker for sweet girly clothing featuring fabulously combined fabric prints and
Kitschy Coo
sure delivers the goods. The undeniable highlights of the
collection are the double-breasted coats. My favourite is the orange
one with birds.
You can still go for the peasant dress and tunics, even though we’re
heading into cooler weather. Regular readers would have heard me carry
