It never occurred to me to tizzy up a light switch on the wall – but then I never knew dressing them was a decorating option!

Kids will love dressing up their switches with awesome Light Up Your Mood decals. Flicking the light on and off has never been so hilarious as it is when the switch is someone’s freckled nose

Just like vinyl wall decals, these vinyl stickers peel on and off easily without leaving any sticky residue or marks. The only marks you will see are those from little fingers and you can easily wipe over the decals with a damp cloth.

Light Up Your Mood decals are available in three designs – Girls, which includes rosy cheeks and hair clips, Boys which will have you applying freckles and moustaches and Animals for whiskers and funny noses. Each set contains four sheets of vinyl stickers to make eight faces – that’s eight switches that can be transformed!

For more decor awesomeness see our past posts on Molly-Meg wares .

Light Up Your Mood light switch decals are priced at £6.50 and available from Molly-Meg.

The world of reasonably-priced bouncers often leaves a lot to be desired but it seems affordability and style have collaborated nicely in this retro-styled beauty. It’s the brand new Combi Pod Bouncer and with looks like these, it’s one I’d be proud to show in my living room. Let’s face it, there are some monstrosities out there with headache-inducing colour schemes and clumpy execution, so it’s little wonder I got rid of ours the first second I could.

My first choice is the chestnut brown with circle pattern but there is also a sunny butternut version and leafy jade option. Each has its own set of hang toys – from the chestnut brown’s planet, star and moon to butternut and jade’s bugs and butterflies. I can see these fitting right in with sibling Yolk chairs from Little Nest or vintage Cosco chairs from Molly Meg, with an Eames Hang It All in walnut in the hall.

The hang toys are a usual feature of bouncers, but the Combi Pod Bouncer packs a technological punch which few can boast. You can plug in your MP3 player so that baby can listen to some tunes while bouncing away. This connection is placed at the rear of the bouncer so that the music is filtered through the back of the seat.

Add to that the standard inclusions such as a lockable bounce feature, slip-resistant feet, three-point padded harness, two-position recline and a storage pouch and you have yourself one mighty fine accessory for your wee twenty-first century babe. I bet our grandparents never dreamed of products like this!

We hope the Combi Pod Bouncer will reach our shores. No word yet on whether it will get to Australia, but you can rely on us to let you know when it happens! In the US this bouncer retails for just US$79.

Lovers of typography and bold colour will certainly adore these gorgeous personalised posters for babies and children… well that’s who they’re primarily aimed at, but I don’t see why I can’t order one for myself!

Molly-Meg has commissioned London designer Stephen Kenny, with his large collection of wooden letterpress letters in many fonts, to custom-make the birthday posters. The length of your child’s name will determine the fonts used – all you have to do is choose black or red ink and a lovely surprise will greet you in the mail.

I adore the slight element of surprise, not knowing quite how it will look in the end! I think they are reminiscent of old Vaudeville and circus posters – the fonts are just so appealing. Each poster is £32.50 including postage and packaging from Molly-Meg, whose fabulous Twentieth-Century chairs we have featured before.

Our Managing Editor here at babyology, Mandi Gunsberger, has a weakness for modern designer chairs and I don’t think she trusted herself to visit Molly Meg, hence I got the gig.

Molly Meg’s business is to make rare finds, in the form of original 20th century modern designer chairs for children. The majority of the pieces are representative of designers from the 1950s onwards and include a red fibreglass and chrome Krueger chair, metal mesh Bertoia chairs and classic 1960s plastic rattan bucket chairs.

The stand-outs in the collection are the moulded plastic Casalino chairs, beginning at £90 each. Their unique ‘duck beak’ design means no sharp corners, which make them perfect for kids and your collection can be easily stacked!

The 1970s Cosco booster seat is also a favourite. The legs are adjustable to two heights and they were originally designed to be used as car seats. Talk about travelling in style… shame they wouldn’t come remotely close to meeting today’s rigorous safety standards! Molly Meg has a number of Cosco seats available, including olive green (pictured) and black, beginning at £80 each.

As all the pieces at Molly Meg are original, some show their own special patina but others are in near perfect condition – either way, all chairs come with iconic status.

Molly Meg is based in the UK. Contact Molly Meg directly to buy.
