Kelly Clarkson’s three-year-old eating in her sleep is all of us this morning

Kelly Clarkson

Singer and TV host Kelly Clarkson uploaded a video to Instagram on the weekend and it pretty much sums up how we’re all feeling at the tail end of the year. Coffee, stat, please.

River Rose is never too sleepy for a snack 🤣 she is the funniest kid!

So … Kelly’s mum to three-year-old River and 18-month-old Remington with husband, music manager Brandon Blackstock.

She’s also step-mum to Brandon’s kids from his previous marriage – 10-year-old Seth and 16-year-old Savannah.

With all this mumming in mind, it’s fair to say that she knows a thing or two about kids. Especially her daughter River. Even more especially when it comes to River’s feeding and snoozing habits. Luckily she’s happy to share.

“River Rose is never too sleepy for a snack 🤣 she is the funniest kid!” Kelly posted on Instagram, alongside a clip of her little girl dozing and eating in her car seat, on-the-go-style.

You kind of have to watch this one to believe it.

Not only does River have excellent endurance, persisting with her snack, time after time,  despite simultaneously succumbing to an on-the-road nap. She also has brilliant coordination, managing to dip into her cup of treats and navigate them to her mouth, without even opening her eyes.

It’s truly a delight to behold and we may have watched it 27 times, but do not judge us!

GO PREDS!! #NSHvsANA see y'all in Nashville!!

“We have a village”

Kelly and her husband Brandon – who is the son of Kelly’s manager and stepson of country star Reba McEntire – began dating in 2012. They married in a lavish ceremony in Tennessee in late 2013 (see below).

She’s just released a new album, The Meaning Of Life – her eighth since her 2003 debut record, the hugely popular Thankful.

The mum-of-four says managing careers and kids is no easy feat, but they have a great support crew to help keep the wheels seamlessly in motion, and pull them up if the wheels begin to fall off.

“We have a village. No one can do it alone,” she told Refinery29. “The kids have grandparents who are awesome, and we both have great assistants … and then we have two nannies who help us tremendously, they’re the greatest gifts ever.”

“We have our little village that helps us keep everyone’s head above water and also aren’t afraid to say ‘Hey, you guys are taking on too much’.”

Further proof that a village is every parent’s bestie.
