I’m probably not the only parent who has laughed as their toddler has done the nude streak down the hallway from bathroom to bedroom.
Award-winning author Emma Quay celebrates the streaking toddler in her latest book, Rudie Nudie. Proving that the simplest ideas can make for the best stories, Rudie Nudie is about a little girl and her baby brother who are enjoy their bath and some nudie time before snuggling into their pyjamas and bed.

Simple rhyming text is paired with Quay’s beautiful, gentle illustrations – pencil sketches set against peachy pink backgrounds. It’s the perfect post-bath, pre-bedtime story for toddlers that is bound to prompt some similar rudie-nudie skylarking at your place.
“Rudie nudie bye-bye bubbles,
Rudie nudie dripping wet,
Dancing footprints on the bath mat,
Rudie nudie pirouette.”
Rudie Nudie is $24.99 and available online from Readings.
