First-time dad: Bam Margera welcomes ridiculously cute baby
Jackass and Viva La Bam star, skater Bam Margera and wife Nikki welcomed their first baby, just before Christmas – and he’s an utterly adorable little guy!
Welcome, Phoenix!
Their son, Phoenix Wolf Margera, was born on Saturday and the pair have celebrated by uploading lots of adorable snaps and videos to their Instagram accounts.
Phoenix weighed in at 6 pounds, 2 ounces – around 2.77 kgs – delivered after mum Nikki was administered a helpful and much-hoped-for epidural.
Family members – including Nikki’s mum – were on hand to support the couple through this exciting event and meet the newest addition to their gang. Bam’s dad busted out a Santa suit for the occasion, in fact, while the dad-to-be filmed snippets of Nikki’s labour.
Bam admitted he was a little intimidated by his new dad role, but confirmed his parents and sibling were keen to lend a hand.
“I was really nervous at the beginning, but now I’m getting used to it,” Bam told People Magazine. “I’ve had a lot of help from my mom and dad. My brother has five kids already.”
The name game
The obviously very stoked new parents actually named their little boy several months ago.
“We named the kid already, Phoenix Wolf,” Bam told People Magazine back in September, saying the name Phoenix had followed he and Nicole around and that he “said it and everybody liked it, so we stuck with that.”
Bam and Nikki first met at California’s Phoenix Theatre, so the name has an extra layer of significance too. The couple married in 2013 in Reykjavik, Iceland.
The (gender neutral) name Phoenix officially means “dark red” and is the surname of famous brothers River and Joaquin. Phoenix is also the baby name chosen by singer Nick Lachey (Phoenix Robert), model Allesandra Ambrosio (Noah Phoenix), fitness personality Jillian Michaels (Phoenix Michaels), Spice Girl Mel B (Phoenix Chi) and Real Housewife of Beverly Hills Dorit Kemsley (Phoenix Kemsley).
