Stokke is getting with the toddler program with its brand new ride-on board – the Rider! We’re rather avid fans of the Stokke Xplory pram, featured here quite a few times over the past few years, so it’s great to see Stokke extending its life for when baby number two comes along.
Whilst I can’t vouch for anyone else’s toddler, my own three-year-old fell head over heels in love with his toddler board when his brother was brand new. Giving him a new sense of independence, he mastered a steady ride on his board in just one week and we still use it for school runs more than two years later!
The Xplory Rider suits toddlers from two years old and up to 20kg. Stokke advises that the Stokke Xplory Rider will fit only new models of the Xplory with serial number 113464 and up. Also be sure to look out for the Xplory’s new cup holder. Unfortunately the Xplory Rider is not currently available in Australia.

A dream pram is now even dreamier…ahhhh
That is a fab idea! We want one!
Fantastic news with the arrival of the toddler board. I couldn’t wait for the cup holder and now looking forward to the Xplory Rider. That will complete my Xplory for me. thanks, Sal
I thought it was fantastic news regarding your article however I have now discovered that my pram is too old for this add on. Being just on two years old. Suzanne refers to having rider for two years or more, did Stokke release this as an option in Europe? I really want one as I now have a baby and toddler without having to buy a whole new one, I would really appreciate any information you guys have and thanks for all the great stuff Babyology does! Larissa
Hi Larissa, I do agree it’s a shame that the new board won’t fit previous models.
To clarify, I was referring to our non-Xplory toddler board as a general reference to the fact that toddlers love riding on them. It was mentioned in the last paragraph about the Rider only fitting the new models. The new model has had a re-design to accommodate it.
Thanks for your feedback about our site! Cheers Suzanne
Hello, our Stokke Xplory is too old as well (bought it in 2008!). But in the shop (in the Netherlands) they told me they can replace the part were the rider should be constructed. This would be around 80 euro’s. So you do not need to buy a complete new Xplory. I tried it out but I was dissapointed. You need to make small steps or walk next to the Xplory. Our daughter (alomost 2) did not want to stand on the rider (what a pity) and she could not easily hold herselve either. So well, they better thougth about something really innovative! I would vote for a duo Xplory. I really do not want to get rid of the Xplory so I guess I will carry the baby and put my oldest in the Xplory…
Sorry , I know that , I’m late … bbut do who know if it’s possible to get the “the part were the rider should be constructed on our old stokke (2008) in Canada or USA ?
Yes, I also have an older stokke which we love…. We now have a 7 month old and a 2 year old….I’m trying to find out where to find the attachment….as I’d love to have the rider attached. Anyone know?
