Pre-order Phil & Teds’ new designer double pram – the Promenade

promenade1 Pre order Phil & Teds’ new designer double pram – the Promenade

I had the pleasure of meeting with the Phil & Teds team yesterday to view the brand new dream double pram; the Promenade. It’s the high-end, fancy-schmancy offering from the company that first brought you capable inline transportation for two kids. In a first for Phil & Teds, the Promenade can be kitted out for twins!

It’s packed with new features such an extendable sun canopy, velcro-less viewing window (how many times did I wake my babies with that velcro noise!), one-hand triple recline and airless EVA tyres. The real clincher here for me is the all-in-one seat-slash-bassinet – no expensive add-ons to buy, just release a few clips and the seat becomes a bed!

You know that awkward phase that happens around three to four months where baby wants to see the world but he still needs to sleep often? He can ride facing you or out, and when he drifts off, just turn the seat into the bassinet. It has an amazing telescopic handle so your stride isn’t compromised even when the pram is fully loaded – here it is below in twin newborn mode.

The two, inline flat beds are a first for Phil & Teds and opens the brand up to the world of multiples. I can almost hear you asking “How much? What else?” so here are the particulars:

$169 for additional seat

$80 for Sleep Bag

$60 for Cocoon

9kg capacity for each seat in bassinet mode

18kg capacity for each seat

5kg capacity for underbasket

Swivelling belly bar for easy access

Folds with seat attached

Seat liners to be released next year

Available in black

Will be compatible with Maxi Cosi and Safe n Sound Unity capsules from next year

  5. Love the whole idea, the bassinette to seat concept is why i bought our first pram- who wants to store a bulky bassinette?!

Like you said, so many questions:
Does this one fold with 2 seats…what positions can you put the seats in…can the seats face each other???

Love that the tyres are now eva tyres, however, they do look very low profile, does that mean a bumpy ride when off pavement?

I would love, love, love to test drive this pram!!!

    Yay Phil and Ted

  8. I’ve checked this stroller in a shop. It’s unclear to me how the front wheel suspension works on this stroller. It doesn’t move at all. Is it just the slight use of the spiral that they call suspension? There is also no way the wheel could move to absorb the shock. The back wheels are big, that helps but it’s unclear to what point. The whole thing tested looks cheap to me. There is also a noise the end-aluminium ( expandable ) handle makes constantly when pushed. Like the 2 peaces don’t fit perfectly together.
However the manouvrability is great, the size great, the space under great in single mode of course. I love this stroller compared to any other on the market right now. However the wheels and the handle are weak points.
