Late last year we let you know about a new pram on the market, Bloom by a company called Joolz. It looks pretty chic and I really want to see one in the flesh.
It looks to me like a combination of the Bugaboo features and the Stokke design. It boasts adjustable handle bars, wheel suspension, folds with or without the seat attached, has many seat positions, reversible seat option, adjustable footrest, has a newborn bassinet, can be used in combination with a car seat... and the list goes on.
With a huge choice of colour and fabric designs, you can choose one main colour and a different seat colour (very Bugaboo-style).
The pram will be available nationally as of approximately April/May 2008 from Babies Galore and Baby Kingdom, The weight of the pram fully collapsed is 11.9 kg with seat unit and wheels.
The retail price will be $1249 which includes frame, seat unit, bassinet and shopping basket. Without the bassinet the retail price will be $899."
In the meantime check out the video of the Joolz Bloom on their website.

Weighing in at an unbelievably light 3.7kg, the UppaBaby G-Lite
Stroller is the lightest full sized umbrella stroller currently available
on the US market.
A perfect size and weight to throw in the back of the car
for shorter outings or take travelling on planes and trains. Made of
lightweight aluminium, this stroller is collapsible at hand level with a simple
lever and will stand alone when folded. It ticks all the must-have boxes
too, with smooth riding 4 wheel suspension, washable seat pad, easy opening
removable canopy and a good sized basket.
The UppaBaby
G-Lite stroller comes in a choice of red, green, blue and black - BTW Tori
Spelling has the black one!
Available at Tots
on the Go, they will ship to Australia and are priced at US $99.99.
It’s always great to support our own and La Toriana are a new Australian company carrying a great range of baby, toddler and parent products. A bit of a change from the norm, their Vanchi nappy bags are super stylish and look more like a designer handbag (I’m thinking along the lines of classic Prada here) than something that is purposefully designed as a nappy bag.
A little more chic than many on the market, they come packed with all you could possibly need when out and about - a dummy safe, thermos for bottles, a change mat, a small bag for wet articles, a mobile phone pouch and internal clip to secure those hard to find keys! Coming in bowling bag, messenger and handbag styles, they will easily convert to a classic handbag that can be used for years to come rather than relegated to the storage cupboard with all the other baby accessories. Keep an eye out for a new ‘man’ style parent bag that will be coming soon. All bags are $99.95, much cheaper than most on the market but a lot more chic.
La Toriana also carry Vanchi supersized baby wraps measuring 180cm x 100cm. They come in a gorgeous selection of 6 colour options, are 100% cotton and already pre-washed to prevent further shrinkage. Coming gift packaged in a lovely bag, a great gift idea for the expectant parents, and priced at $19.95.
La Toriana offer a fantastic flat fee of $7.50 shipping fee on orders Australia-wide.
Another new pram to hit the market is the Peg Perego Skate. Already winning awards in Europe, the sleek Italian design and engineering make this an easy one to drool over. What differentiates it from many on the market is the convertible carriage – it goes from being a flat fully reclined super cosy bassinet to a fully adjustable seat – a very slick design feature that will win over many.
As expected, it also comes with all the bells and whistles such as aluminium chassis, reversible seat and height adjustable telescopic handles. The pram also collapses with the seat attach making it easy when transporting from ground to car. A great bumper bar handle can be completely taken off or simply opened on one side using a clip system. In addition, you also have the option of using a compatible Peg Perego car seat when purchasing the adaptors. All that, and it comes in 5 different colourways - oh and a really funky flat expandable basket!
Weighing in at 15.3kg it’s certainly not the lightest of prams, but with this many features and unique design, you will really have to weigh (no pun intended I promise!) up the benefits. If you could stretch your imagination to James Bond settling down with a baby in tow, I think this is the pram he would have – the design is just that slick! Check out the website to see a video demo on how it all works.
Not available until early next year, we will keep you posted as to Australian stockists.
