Little Tats for little Tots

Out And About

I don't often have any good ideas while folding my laundry but this clever Sydney Mum has and the result is Tat Your Tot.  Based on removable character tattoos these little personalised lovelies help ensure your child has their details on them at all times when out and about and unlike the identity braclets they can't take them off.

The Identatats come in a wide range of designs and can contain name, phone number and any relevant medical information. At $15.00 for 8 or $30.00 for 20 this is a small cost to put your mind at ease.

The Allergy Tattoos are a lifesaver at only $9.60 for 10 - perfect for outings in large gatherings or children's parties to remind the host and other adults to be aware of your childs needs.  They come in a range of allergies including wheat, eggs, nuts, bees and even cats.

The Party Time tattoos would be a perfect loot bag filler or why not have the birthday child place one on each guest as they arrive.  For $1.25 each these can be personalised with your child's name and the special birthday number.  There are plenty of designs to choose from and they make a great keepsake of the day.

Tat Your Tot also offers a fundraising service to support your local community.  Take a look around their website today at Tat Your Tot and place your order now.

Pet to go

Out And About

zoobie1.jpgzoobie2.jpgzoobie3.jpg

What is a Zoobie you might ask? According the Zoobie Pets creators “it’s a cuddly plush animal, a soft comfy pillow and a cozy warm blanket”. While this description might not be found in the Macquarie Dictionary, it certainly is a fair call on Zoobie Pets.

Born out of a desire for innovation, a love of children and a thirst for travel, two brothers (hailing from a clan of nine kids) have designed these cuddly little toys.

The versatile designs triple up as a portable toy, pillow and blanket. Very clever and perfect for moving about with baby.

They currently design two ranges - The Zoo Collection (ranging from a blue monkey called GoGo to a cuddly tiger, Taj) and The Safari Collection (complete with a giraffe called Jafaru, a croc who goes by the name of Kojo and zebra called Zulu). Each one is cuter than the next. I can see how kids might want to have more than just one!

Zoobie Pets have won many accolades including the highly coveted (in the toy world) Toy Man Favourite Seal, Best of Show at the LA Baby Celebration 2008 and the Babies and Mom’s Radio’s Squeal of Approval – and this was just in April! They have also been awarded the Creative Child’s Magazine’s Top Toy of the Year Award for 2007 and the Oppenheim Gold Seal as well as a long list of other prestigious gongs that grace the bottom of the funky toys’ website, not to mention celebrity endorsements such as Tori Spelling, Denise Richards, Jason Priestly and more.

Currently on sale for $44.96 from ekidna kidswear.

Melobaby - baby change wallet extraordinaire!

Out And About
Written by Suzanne Catchpole

I love my change wallet, but it's getting awfully large and bulky to carry and it's time for a replacement. Besides - it could do with some additional features like those found in the Melobaby change wallet. Complete with fluffy mat, storage pockets and beautiful zebra-print wipes container accessible externally, this Australian company has come up with a product indispensable to busy parents.

It's styled to look more like a clutch bag than anything baby-related and comes in two chic colours - black with charcoal fleecy mat, or brown with lime mat. With winter upon us, the soft fleece will be a delight to baby's bottom and back - no cold surprises during those rushed changes.

Melobaby has a 2-fold easy operation.  First unfold to the four handy storage compartments, then again to a fleece mat attached with magnets. The wipes purse slips easily into a back pocket so you don't have to unfold the mat to get to it. This has been my biggest frustration with my current change wallet - sometimes you need access to the wipes for quick food spills or dirty hands and don't want to unfold the entire thing just to do so.

Take it with you everywhere for quick, hygienic changes in any setting you happen to be in. Pop it in your handbag or carry it by the handle - either way, it's instantly portable!

$59.95 plus post from Urban Baby.

Kidkustoms - traffic-stopping baby buggies

Out And About
Written by Suzanne Catchpole

redkustom.jpg

They're the hot rods of the baby world and you'd probably cause traffic pile-ups walking along with a Kidkustoms Roddler stroller. You'll need a healthy wallet and a kid who doesn't mind being upstaged, no matter how cute he or she is!

Kidkustoms strollers pack a punch with optional extras like video screens and iPod docks - all this on top of the professional pearlescent paint job and custom upholstery. 'Parental units' of the affluent kind can tailor their Roddler by choosing flamed fenders and two-toned seats and hoods, right down to the colour of the stitching.

Kidkustoms is a concept born through a marriage of the automotive and apparel industries. When these two make babies, out comes a Kidkustom in all its shiny glory. Just don't be seen in trackie-dacks in such esteemed company - you'll require an extra two hours of glamming up before leaving the house to do one of these justice. They make me want to go all out on the Rockabilly look!

They start at US$2500 plus international shipping through a reshipper.

Thanks to Babyology reader Kirra for this one.

Stokke Xplory - a modern classic in beautiful new hues

Out And About
Written by Suzanne Catchpole

stokke2.jpg

Since astonishing the pram world in 2003 with the launch of the Xplory, Stokke has yet again proven its ability to create a modern classic that remains unexpected and fresh. The Xplory has become a stand-out in high-end prams whilst staying true to Stokke's mantra, 'Higher is better'.

I still crane my neck to absorb the giraffe-like stature of the Xplory when one passes me by. It never fails to capture my attention, not only for its beauty, but for the fact that I know it fits the bill function-wise and want to see it in action.

Park baby at the cafe table and chat while you eat, wander the shops conversing closely with him, interact as you walk through your day. Baby's learning will be all the more pleasurable when effortlessly built into ordinary tasks. It's also a nice thought that baby is above exhaust-pipe level as you walk, and able to be much closer to you than they'd ever be in a conventional pram.

Having one of those days when the mere sight of you prompts whingeing and demands? Face the seat outwards for some much needed peace while running errands. I'm certainly not going to pretend it never happens!

A reversible seat has many advantages, including you being able to eat an entire sandwich without half of it being appropriated by a toddler, not to mention of course, being able to see the world independently.

Now there are three new colours available - orange, olive and my favourite, creme. The spotted sleeping bags and footmuffs are beautiful and there are many other accessories to choose from to suit your needs.

Check out the Xplory's full spectrum of award-winning features and accessories on the Stokke site.

Available from bébé in all six colourways for $1499.95.
